Goodreads: Lincoln is a good boy. At the age of four, he is curious, clever and well behaved. He does as his mum says and knows what the rules are.
‘The rules are different today. The rules are that we hide and do not let the man with the gun find us.’
When an ordinary day at the zoo turns into a nightmare, Joan finds herself trapped with her beloved son. She must summon all her strength, find unexpected courage and protect Lincoln at all costs – even if it means crossing the line between right and wrong; between humanity and animal instinct.
It’s a line none of us would ever normally dream of crossing.
But sometimes the rules are different.
My Review: I would like to thank Gin Phillips, Alison Barrow and Penguin Random House for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of Fierce Kingdom. I can confirm that I chose to read this ARC and all opinions in this review are my own and are completely unbiased.
My heart is beating so fast right now and my mind is racing at 100mph!!! I’m not even sure if I can put together a review yet because Fierce Kingdom has had me sitting through two reading sessions tightly holding my breath. WOW!! If you’re a fan of Room by Emma Donaghue you will absolutely love this.
Imagine you are at the zoo with your young son and it’s right on closing time, but as you’re getting ready to leave you hear gunshots. What would you do? If you read Fierce Kingdom you will find out what Joan does and you’ll see how far she goes for the love of her son, Lincoln when this situation happens to them.
Fierce Kingdom is intense, breathtaking and like a rocket going off at supersonic speed. If you pick this novel up, you will not put it down until you have finished it’s many levels that are packed with a plethora of genres.
