I’m thrilled to be on the blog tour today for Pay The Penance, written by Rob Ashman and published by Bloodhound Books. Also, many thanks to Sarah Hardy for organising the blog tour.

BLURB:
Murder. Corruption. Revenge.

Lucas has been tracking a killer, known as Mechanic, when his world is shattered. Unable to continue his hunt for the murderer he is forced to rely on his friend and colleague Dick Harper. But Harper has a knack for not playing by the rules. He doesn’t disappoint.

Meanwhile Detective Moran is trying to piece her life back togetherThe police stumble upon new evidence without grasping its significance. She has to divert the investigation if she is to survive.

The police are closer to Mechanic than they realise which putMoran right in the firing line.

Mechanic, as usual, has other plans and the consequences for Lucas and Harper are terrifying.

Rob is married to Karen with two grown up daughters. He is originally from South Wales and after moving around with work settled in North Lincolnshire where he’s spent the last twenty-two years.

Like all good welsh valley boys Rob worked for the National Coal Board after leaving school at sixteen and went to University at the tender age of twenty-three when the pit closures began to bite. Since then he’s worked in a variety of manufacturing and consulting roles both in the UK and abroad.

It took Rob twenty-four years to write his first book. He only became serious about writing it when his dad got cancer. It was an aggressive illness and Rob gave up work for three months to look after him and his mum. Writing Those That Remain became his coping mechanism. After he wrote the book his family encouraged him to continue, so not being one for half measures, Rob got himself made redundant, went self-employed so he could devote more time to writing and four years later the Mechanic Trilogy is the result.

When he is not writing, Rob is a frustrated chef with a liking for beer and prosecco, and is known for occasional outbreaks of dancing.

Rob is delighted that all three books in the Mechanic Trilogy will be published with Bloodhound Books in 2017.

MY REVIEW: I would like to thank Rob Ashman, Bloodhound Books and Sarah Hardy for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of Pay The Penance prior to taking part and being a stop on the blog tour. I can confirm that I chose to read this ARC and all opinions in this review are my own and are completely unbiased.

Book 3 of the Mechanic Trilogy and AGAIN, another 5 stars – OH MY GOD!!!!!

Seriously, this just gets better. Rob Ashman is one phenomenal author with an imagination as wild as the maddest kookaburra but I blumming love it, and it’s taught me one thing – wherever Rob Ashman is, there will be blood, plenty of violence, corruption and action that always ends in death, and a good chase.

I don’t want to say a lot about the actual story behind the final instalment of this trilogy (I’m very sad it’s over), but what I can say is when Lucas’ world came crashing down in In Your Name, I thought that was it, but no, this guy is hell bent and determined to catch the worst sadistic killer of all.

Without a doubt, Pay The Penance is a jaw dropping and gripping read. I suggest if you intend to delve in, ensure you give yourself time because once you’re involved, you’re involved … there is no such thing as letting go. You will not be free until you’ve read the final word on the last page, and even then you’ll find your mind spinning with thoughts of a trilogy you’ll still be talking about in twenty years time!!
